Dubai Lynx Health Award Announced
The Dubai Lynx International of Festival of Creativity is proud to announce the creation of a new award dedicated to celebrating life-changing creativity in the healthcare sector.
Based on the successful framework established by the Lions Health awards at Cannes Lions, the Health Lynx award has been in development for several years in consultation with the industry.
This new specialist award encompass health and wellbeing consumer products, education and awareness and corporate communications, as well as specialist categories for pharma communications and animal health.
Commenting on the launch of the new Lynx Award, Thea Skelton, Festival Director, Dubai Lynx commented, “Healthcare is an important issue in the region and there’s a thriving scene of specialist healthcare agencies across MENA who are producing some truly innovative and pioneering work in a challenging sector. I’m pleased that we’ve been able to work with representatives of the local industry to develop a health award at Lynx which recognises the creative achievements in healthcare comms, and it will be exciting to see how Dubai Lynx can help life-changing creativity in the region to flourish.”
Speaking on the importance of the Lynx Health award to the region, Jenni Mercer, General Manager, McCann Health MENA commented,“For many, healthcare communications are seen as boring, with little scope for creativity – which is a terrible shame as health-done-well can truly influence the world we live in. Health advertising is challenging, innovative, rewarding; Health communications help build brands that enhance people’s lives. We are delighted to see the introduction of Lynx Health and look to see the creativity of health unleashed in MENA.”
The Health Lynx award will be supported by a specialist content programme that will examine the role and potential of creativity in the healthcare sector. This will be integrated into the main Festival programme and be open to all Festival attendees.
On the background to the award, Terry Savage, Chairman, Dubai Lynx commented, “In the four years since the launch of Lions Health, we’ve seen significant growth of awards won by healthcare agencies. We’ve also seen steady growth in the number of pharma clients who engage with the Festival as they switch on to the value that creativity can bring to this important but challenging sector. Healthcare is getting more creative and it’s the role of Dubai Lynx to help nuture this specialism and push creativity forward. The launch of the Health Award will create a much-needed benchmark for life-changing ideas in the region.”
The international Health jury will be comprised of healthcare communication experts and Lions Health winners from around the world with the Jury Presidents announced early next month.
Entries for all Dubai Lynx categories open on 24 November and further details can be found on the Dubai Lynx website. www.dubailynx.com.
